Artists Proof Pins
Artists Proof Pins are the few pins that are struck to be checked before the pin manufacturer makes the final run.
These are then checked for any faults or scratches in the manufacture and the designs and colours are also carefully checked.
Only When the Artists Proofs are accepted does the actual main manufacture of that pin continue.
If any errors occur then these are fixed and a new Artists Proof is made and checked until the trading pins are perfect.
These are usually in quite small numbers but are often very much collected.
Artists proof pins do appear here quite regularly but you should check the feedback on any vaendor who sells many of the same pin in case they are copies.
